| 1) |
Nothing stored will be even the slightest bit damp. |
| 2) |
Every item must be returned dry and clean and
ready to be used again. |
|
a) |
In the event of bad weather: Items cannot be stored for more than
two days without beginning to mold and mildew. Therefore, tents,
pavilions, their ropes, poles, and stakes need to be set up in order
to dry out. It does not matter where they’re set up as long
as they are dry and clean prior to being put back in storage. |
|
b) |
If you can’t coil the ropes for the list fields when you bring
them back, e.g. you’re throwing stuff in the vehicle to out-run a
tornado during tear down, make sure you set up a time to return to
the shed to straighten them out. |
|
c) |
Remember, we try “to leave things cleaner/better than we found
them” also applies to Baronial property. The Barony has a lot of
expensive equipment. Do not be the person who returns damaged or wet
items to storage. |
| 3) |
It is the responsibility of the person checking out the
equipment to provide the warm bodies to load and unload the equipment.
It is the responsibility of the person checking out the equipment to
provide the transportation for the equipment there and back. It is the
responsibility of the person checking out the equipment to make sure
the stuff is returned dry. It is NOT
the responsibility of the kind gentles who allow the Barony to use
their space for our storage. |
|
a) |
There is a box hanging up with forms. There is a sample form taped
to the inside of the lid. When you check out items, you should list
all the items you are taking. This includes the number of polls for
the pavilions. Each of the rope boxes should have a sledgehammer
inside. |
|
b) |
None of this going in and helping oneself. We had a major
cleanup and inventory last spring. Already we're missing a table
and two large bowls. And the ropes were put back WET. L |
|
c) |
If you check it out, you are personally responsible for returning
it DRY. |
| 4) |
Items will be returned to their niche of
origin. None of this throwing stuff in on the floor. |
|
a) |
See #2.b above. |
| 5) |
The pavilion poles are color-coded on the
end with the spikes. Poles should be placed in the racks with
the pointy ends towards the tables. |
|
a) |
The code is: Yellow -- Blue and Gold.
White -- Blue and White. Green
-- Green (fabric) Tarp. White with red
stripe -- Children's Pavilion. There are extra poles for
use but they have not been coded yet. |
|
b) |
List field poles are positioned (carefully) standing up just as if
they were in the ground, in the niche between pavilion poles and the
Rubbermaid tubs. |
| 6) |
The War Chest contains plastic eating
utensils and Styrofoam plates/bowls. If you come back from an
event and have extras, feel free to put them in the War Chest. |
| 7) |
Items will be checked back in. |
|
a) |
The things in the storeroom were inspected at the shed cleaning
party. If an item is damaged or used up, it should be noted on
the return list and submitted to the Chamberlain for replacement.
Normal wear & tear is ok. Abuse is not. |
| 8) |
No food items will be stored in the shed
with the following exceptions: |
|
a) |
Unopened canned goods. |
|
b) |
Unopened jars. This excludes any item that has been
opened but not used up. |
|
c) |
Styrofoam and plastic utensils. |
|
d) |
Metal, plastic, and wood cooking/serving items: Platters, baskets,
bowls, trays, and cups. |
|
e) |
The shed is not secure against bugs & rodents. |
| 9) |
When stacking the tables: DO NOT push them
up against the shelving. The items in the shed are organized like a
Chinese puzzle. We can’t remove the War Chest and other items if we
can’t rotate them. |
| 10) |
There should be a gap between the two
stacks of tables. This is to allow the signs to be stacked between
them. |
| 11) |
The new direction signs must be rolled up
with the PRINTED SIDE OUT. |
| 12) |
Check in and check out: We can usually be
there about 5:30 p.m. depending on traffic. Any other
arrangements should be coordinated through the office of the
Chamberlain OR Seneschal in advance. |
| 13) |
Failure to comply may result in revocation
of rights to use the Barony’s equipment. |
| 14) |
Any questions? Any takers? |
